The Rural Ambassador Program recognises and celebrates passionate young people who are dedicated to supporting and promoting rural communities, agricultural industries, and the agricultural show movement. Open to individuals aged 20 to 30 years, the program provides a unique platform for young rural leaders to develop their skills, connect with others, and represent their region on a state and national stage. Whether you come from a farming background or simply share a strong connection with rural life, the program offers the opportunity to get involved, make a difference, and champion the future of rural Australia.

The Agricultural Shows Australia (ASA) Rural Ambassador Award is a National Competition that highlights and celebrates young people who have a genuine interest in rural and regional Australia or New Zealand. The Award aims to provide an opportunity for these young people to promote rural communities and industries, as well as to be involved in promoting the importance of agriculture and food production. The Award will identify and recognise the next generation of leaders who have a strong commitment to agricultural industries and an involvement and or a genuine interest for the Agricultural Show movement either at the local, State or National level.

The program offers an incredible opportunity to develop leadership, public speaking, and communication skills; connect with decision-makers, mentors, and peers from across the country; and become a voice for regional youth and rural industries. Participants also have the chance to attend shows, conferences, and agricultural events throughout Tasmania and beyond. If this sounds like you, contact your local Agricultural Society for entry details, or visit Agricultural Shows Australia to learn more.

The National Rural Ambassador Final is held in a different state each year, showcasing young rural leaders and promoting the agricultural show movement across Australia.
